To address the critical pain points of high energy costs and carbon emissions for energy-intensive industries, BTC SOLAR today launched its innovative "Ark" Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) solution. Designed specifically for large-scale manufacturing plants, this solution transforms the entire roof into a power generator, offering an integrated system for energy production, building enclosure, and structural enhancement.
Conventional rooftop solar installations often face challenges related to structural load, wind uplift resistance, and prolonged installation timelines. BTC SOLAR's "Ark" BIPV solution features a revolutionary modular design that combines high-efficiency PV modules with structurally optimized substrates, serving as the primary roofing material. This not only saves the cost of traditional roofing but also provides superior insulation, reducing indoor temperatures and cutting cooling costs, thereby delivering dual benefits of "energy generation and energy saving."
"For a major auto parts manufacturer with massive annual energy consumption, power is a core operational cost," said the Head of Solution Business Unit at BTC SOLAR. "The 'Ark' BIPV addresses not just the 'energy use' issue, but fundamentally reimagines the building envelope as an integrated power plant. We help clients turn a cost center—their roof—into a sustainable profit center."
The solution boasts exceptional waterproofing, fire resistance, and corrosion resistance, with a service life exceeding 25 years and robust performance against harsh weather. It has been successfully deployed at a large logistics park in Eastern China, where it is projected to generate enough electricity annually to cover 80% of the park's daytime operational needs, reducing carbon emissions by thousands of tonnes each year.
The launch of the "Ark" BIPV solution marks a strategic evolution for BTC SOLAR from a PV product supplier to an integrated energy solution expert, providing a replicable blueprint for the green transformation of energy-intensive sectors.
